Title Why do I have to send my original degree and my transcripts? Will I get them back?
ÀÛ¼ºÀÏ 2009-05-23
The Korean Immigration asks all applicants to submit these documents when issuing the E2 visa. They inspect the documents to make sure they are authentic. The transcripts which are in a university sealed envelope are extra proof that your degree is legitimate.

In the past few years, there have been a number of cases of people without degrees buying fake degrees online or in Thailand to teach English overseas. The government caught on to this pretty quickly. To prevent this from becoming a problem they decided to be more careful and now request the real thing.

We understand that people are uncomfortable parting with their hard earned university diplomas. You will get them back from the school as soon as you receive your Alien Registration Card. (See E2 Visa Process). If anything should happen to your documents, Pegasus will make sure they are replaced at our expense.
